The short answer
A white-label CPaaS (communications platform as a service) is a ready-made messaging and voice platform that you rebrand and resell. Your customers log in to your portal, see your logo and pay your prices. Behind it, the platform provider runs the servers, operator connections, compliance and 24/7 support. You earn the margin between your selling price and your wholesale cost.
Who it is for
- Telecom resellers and MSPs adding messaging and voice to an existing customer base.
- ISPs and regional telcos that want CPaaS revenue without building a platform.
- SaaS and CRM vendors embedding SMS, WhatsApp or calling inside their product.
- Digital agencies running WhatsApp and SMS campaigns for many clients.
How the money works
Most white-label models have two parts: a fixed monthly platform fee paid to the provider, and metered usage (per message, per minute, per AI conversation) at wholesale rates. You set your own retail rate card for each customer, and the platform's partner billing calculates what each customer owes you and what you owe the provider. Your margin is the difference, less the platform fee.
Margins are usually highest on value-added services (WhatsApp flows, AI agents, contact centre seats) and thinnest on plain SMS termination, which is close to a commodity.
What you can white-label
- SMS, WhatsApp Business API and Google RCS through one API
- Virtual numbers and voice, including IVR and call recording
- AI voice and chat agents for bookings, lead qualification and support
- Contact centre and cloud PBX seats
- Softphone and web dialer apps in your brand
- Travel eSIM data plans
8 checks before you sign
- Real operator routes. Ask whether traffic goes through telecom operators directly or through grey routes. Grey routes are cheap until they are blocked.
- Failover. What happens when a route fails? Automatic switching should take seconds, not a support ticket.
- Compliance tooling. India needs DLT headers, templates and consent; the US needs 10DLC registration. The platform should handle registration for your customers.
- Partner billing. Per-customer rate cards, sub-accounts, prepaid and postpaid, invoices in your name, and billing in the currencies you sell in.
- Full rebranding. Your domain, logo, emails and app store listings, with no mention of the provider.
- Number hygiene. How often are numbers recycled, and what happens to spam-flagged numbers?
- Support model. Who answers your customers' tickets at 3 am, and how does escalation work?
- Exit terms. Can you export customers, numbers and data if you move?
How Voxvalley's white-label programme works
Every Voxvalley product line is available white label: messaging, voice and numbers, AI agents, contact centre, cloud PBX, softphone SDK and travel eSIM. All SMS and voice traffic is sent through telecom operators, with failover in about two seconds. Partners get per-partner rate cards, usage metering and billing in USD, EUR or INR, and Voxvalley runs 24/7 support with a four-level escalation matrix. Our MoSIP softphone has been delivered as more than 1,000 white-label builds since 2010.
